A series of paintings "The Sea" With this series of canvas's my focus was on the opposition of two forces: the weight and the mass of the ocean in contrast to the weightlessness of the sky. The vast contrast between the two: light opposed to darkness, atmosphere to solidity. Creating depth using horizontal line; vertical opposed to horizontal- conflicting yet harmonious... and then breaking that harmony. The layering of color, the layering in our lives. The peacefulness which is created between sound and space. A meditative space where the viewer enters and creates their own personal reality, a personal space. The contrast of city living to the peace we find in nature... to stop, to breath, to think... or not to think at all.
